Geothermal Process Loads

Excerpt

To characterize a geothermal resource properly and ultimately design an Earth heat exchange system, the process load dynamics must be known. Peak-hour loads are necessary for sizing heating and cooling equipment in all systems, but the design of geothermal energy systems also requires time-dependent loads throughout the year in order to predict thermal storage effects and long-term temperatures in the subsurface.
