Steam Turbine Commissioning

Excerpt

The performance tests start when the HRSG is approved to power up to MCR System chemistry cleanup may be required before admitting steam to the turbine. For example, HRSG operation may be held in a continuous run condition of 70% of base steam load while by-passing the steam turbine until the cycle water and steam chemistry limits meet acceptable operating limits for admission to the steam turbine. The percentage of base load that may be achieved during this run is contingent on the air permits available, venting capacity, or the design capacity of the dump condenser. The lower the percentage power, the longer it will take to clean up the chemistry via blowdown.
