Improving Software Reliability by Application of Software Engineering Approach


Software Reliability is an important contribution towards software quality. Software reliability is the probability of the failure free operation of a computer program for a specified period of time in a specified environment. It is different from hardware reliability because it reflects design perfection, rather than manufacturing perfection. This article provides a general idea of software reliability and an overview of improving software reliability by improving the different development models by incorporating software engineering methodologies. It also provides with an algorithm for the right selection of software development model.
