Urban greenbelt is a variety of green space in urban planning area, is a green space which plays the ecological balance of features in a living environment and closely relates to our human life. The design of urban greenbelt based on the landscape pattern optimization is the intersected science research of landscape ecology and landscape design, this paper analyzes the urban planning ideas and landscape ecology ideas of the urban greenbelt design, illustrates the pattern of landscape ecological optimization must be studied in methods, makes sure about the process and mechanism of the landscape patterns ' evolution, proposes the methods that make use of ecological planning and design, along with the way of designing the green space scaled from the spatial pattern and ecological factors.
