Multi-Service Satellite Network Methodology for Performance Analysis. Study Case: Petroleos Mexicanos

The Communications system based in satellite networks and the development of hybrid networks that combine the use of satellite with optical links are being widely studied these days.

The main objective is propose a methodology for performance analysis in Multi-Service Satellite Network but can be adapted to more complex networks as Next Generation Networks (NGN). This analysis provides the differentiation between the measurements: system, network and services. With its special features that distinguish them from each other, they will be described throughout the paper and finally we presents real values of study case applying this methodology to the network with 420 active V-SATS that delivery services as: VoIP, data, video and operational measurements used by the oil industry.
