Characterization and Modeling of Viscoelastic Layer Damping Plate Based on Substructures


An efficient method of characterization and modeling of Viscoelastic Layer Damping Plate (VLDP) is proposed for dynamic analysis of engineering structures with viscoelastic layer damping. Based on the Component Mode Synthesis (CMS) techniques, a VLDP structure is divided into three substructures, namely the constrained layer, the base layer and the viscoelastic damping layer. A numerical model consisting of these three substructures is synthesized, and its modal parameters are compared with experiment data. The analysis results verify the effectiveness of the proposed modeling method of VLDP for modal analysis of viscoelastic composite structures.
