A Reduced 2-D Digital Filter Structure for Fast Implementation of Geometric Moments


In this paper we show a method to reduce the digital filter structure proposed by Hatamian, in the computation of geometric moments which leads to faster computation to obtain them. The proposed method is modeled using the 2-D Z-transform. The theoretical framework for the proposed reduced digital filter structure is developed and the experimental results validate the performance. As compared with the results obtained by past researchers, the proposed digital filter structure is reduced by maximum p-order.
