Koncay Huseyin

Koncay Huseyin was born in Nicosia, Cyprus in 1936. He received a combined Bachelor-Masters Degree in Applied Mechanics in 1960 from the Technological University of Istanbul, Faculty of Civil Engineering. After having worked as a structural engineer in Cyprus and in Turkey, he attended the University of London, England, where in 1967 he received a PhD degree in Civil Engineering with a thesis dealing with structural stability. He served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Engineering Sciences of the Middle East Technical University in Ankara from 1968 to 1969. In 1969, he emigrated with his family to Canada, where Koncay has been affiliated with the University of Waterloo, Ontario ever since.
